Software firm grows as part of area's technology base

Using a simple business philosophy and commitment to client service, a home-grown information technology and software company has created a name for itself in Tallahassee and beyond.

Now settled in new offices off Commonwealth Boulevard, Infinity Software Development Inc. is part of the technology infrastructure the area offers. The company has achieved what it has through attention to each customer's needs in the 14 years it has been in business.

"It was started based on providing programming services to clients right here in Tallahassee, through the principle of, really, delivering, doing a great job," said Infinity President Jon Taylor. "And doing that on a project will often get you several other opportunities for work."

Company owner and founder Tom Lynch's philosophy is still central to the success of the firm, which has 130 employees.

"The model that Tom started and that we have stuck to since then is that customer satisfaction and delivery are how you're successful. It sounds trite, but that's proven to be the case for us," Taylor said.

Beth Kirkland, executive director of the Economic Development Council of Tallahassee/Leon County Inc. sees Infinity as a key component of the technology community the area needs to attract more firms, especially in critical fields.
